INCOMING: Magnetic fields above sunspot complex 1236 erupted during the early hours of June 21st, producing a C7-class solar flare and a full-halo CME. The expanding cloud is heading almost directly toward Earth:
UPDATE: According to analysts at the GSFC Space Weather Lab, the CME left the sun traveling 800 km/s and it will reach Earth on June 23rd at 23:22 UT (plus or minus 7 hours). A very cool 3D heliospheric model shows the cloud sweeping past our planet. The impact is expected to trigger a G2-class (Kp=6) geomagnetic storm. Comment: Wait a minute, the best estimate is plus or minus 7 hours? So what does that mean when governments decide to take down national power grids? Do they expect hospitals to have emergency backup systems that will last for 14 hours from when it might stike to when it could eventually hit? Nuclear power power plants do not even have backups that can last this length of time, as we now know because of Fukushima... I would be interested to know what procedures are being drafted and so should anyone else who is interested in the survival of our current modern technological world. Part I of this series, “Space weather: Are we ready for a solar strike?” reviewed the background and nature of the threats of space weather.
I concluded that major solar storms have the potential to: 1) occur with limited advanced warning, 2) strike with insufficient means to protect vital earth and satellite based systems, 3) be disastrous to technology dependent societies and 4) leave in their wake totally inadequate resources and capabilities to recover for a periods ranging from weeks to years – at a cost of trillions of dollars. [...] At present, even if we know for sure that a CME plasma cloud is directed towards Earth some days ahead, the effects on power grids, satellites, etc, depend upon the relative orientation (polarity) of the magnetic fields of the plasma and Earth. Under certain alignments, even the most intense plasma disturbance will pass earth with virtually no effect whereas, under others, the threat is real and potentially disastrous. Intermediate levels of danger depend upon the relative polarity of Earth and plasma magnetic fields between these two extremes. Critically, the only source of information on the alignment of the magnetic fields is NASA’s Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) satellite and, therefore, the only system able to provide advanced warning of geomagnetic storms. Given the position of ACE in space between the Earth and Sun (L1 point), however, only short term advance notice (1 hour at most) is possible. [...] Sidebar: Are the days of the ACE space weather satellite numbered? NOAA acknowledges the possible loss of ACE would constitute the ‘most serious gap’ in its space weather services by leaving the world without a vital early-warning system against a devastating solar storm. It’s something which Tom Bogdan, Director of SWPC, admits keeps him awake at night. Comment: This article provides some Space Weather Education. Also, we are given a nice synopsis of the situation with the ACE satellite which is crucial for space weather forecasters to help provide some advance warning. If this important satellite gets crippled by the radiation from a solar flare (that sends high speed radiation towards Earth in minutes) and there is NO BACKUP system, then this means that there is a possibility that space weather forecasters could be left completely in the dark and will not be able to warn about the arrival of a coronal mass ejection (CME) that usually arrives 3/4 days later. High speed CMEs can arrive in half that time and that is another reason for the worry, people should forget about averages because the Sun cannot be trusted, the peak of solar cycle 23 is proof is you want to check the facts. Basically, the situation is unbelievable. Humanity has sleepwalked into a situation where world controllers now admit that we are now playing celestial russian roulette with the Sun. The Sun can fire a bullet or a blank and space weather forecasters just hope they can tell the difference. Just great.... More than three months after the Great East Japan Earthquake and the meltdowns at the Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant, Tokyo region residents are becoming increasingly worried over radiation exposure as a number of radioactive "hotspots" have been discovered in and around the capital.
Comment: This is hard to believe that this is happening in a so-called modern 'advanced' society.
Flooding Brings Worries Over Two Nuclear Plants New York Times, 20th June 2011 
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As record floodwaters along the Missouri River drench homes and businesses, concerns have grown about keeping a couple of notable structures dry: two riverside nuclear power plants in Nebraska.
Though the plants have declared “unusual events,” the lowest level in the emergency taxonomy used by federal nuclear regulators, both were designed to withstand this level of flooding, and neither is viewed as being at risk for a disaster, said a spokesman for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Comment: Well, not even the New York Times is interested in pretending there is not a problem here... When Japan was rocked by a massive earthquake and tsunami back in March, we told ourselves the worst was behind us. Tens of thousands dead, an economy shattered, whole communities razed. Surely the Japanese had suffered enough.
But all these weeks later, the crisis is far from over. “Scientific integrity is at the core of producing and using good science,” said Jane Lubchenco, Ph.D., undersecretary for oceans and atmosphere and NOAA administrator. Levees in northern Missouri breached, overtopped: Several levees in northern Missouri were failing Sunday to hold back the surge of water being released from upstream dams.
Authorities said water—some of it from recent rain—began pouring over levees Saturday night and Sunday morning in Holt and Atchison counties, flooding farmland and numerous homes and cabins. There are hundreds of consequences to the bothersome ash of the Puyehue Volcano, everything ranging from school closures to paralyzed airports. But the latest news to emerge has to do with the source of the eruption -- a cause that some ascribe to the presence of beings from other worlds: the recently famous UFOs.
A recently displayed series of photos and recordings depicts unidentified flying objects hovering in the volcano's vicinity just as the volcano was reaching its maximum violence. Comment: Actually, this is an interesting question. If you believe that some UFOs act like messaging systems throughout the universe and "tell" volcanoes when to erupt then possibly UFOs are responsible for eruptions. However, I think this is not exactly what is going on. In a metaphysical sense, everything in the physical has higher dimensional components that monitor and "control" how the physical representatives behave. These higher dimensional representatives also liase with environment "controllers" (UAPs) and the best analogy is the fact we know that the human body is filled with mini-systems that communicate intelligently with each other as an ordered whole, but the physical aspects are directed by higher dimensional components. I believe planet Earth has an Earth Management Team that runs the show and communicates with the being Gaia. I presume that volcanoes have their own system of management, but this is a completely different scenario to volcanoes having inhabitants and can be thought of in the same way as human bodies that have friendly and unfriendly bacteria and parasites etc. The author of this piece needs a new mindset, to understand that Earth has a Shadow Biosphere, not every strange thing that appears in the sky is an unfriendly enemy ready to take over the world. The logic is that since there is evidence of UFOs and aliens that stretches back thousands of years, (have you heard of Oannes and friends?), then invading aliens should have taken over millenia ago. Japan is dangerously contaminated by radioactivity over a far larger area than previously reported by TEPCO and the central government according to new reports from multiple sources. The prefectural government of Iwate released new data that shows radioactive contamination of grass exceeds safety standards at a distance of 90 to 125 miles from the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plants.
The prefectural government found on Tuesday radioactive cesium exceeding the limit of 300 becquerels per kilogram in grass collected from pastures in four areas, including Tono and Otsuchi. The areas are located about 150 to 200 kilometers north of the Fukushima nuclear power plant.Science Magazine reports that Japanese scientists have become so concerned about the health of their children that they have initiated their own radiation monitoring program and made their own maps. The results are shocking. Comment: Sorry to say this but what do people expect? Nuclear energy has to be carefully controlled but on a planet that is experiencing massive Earth changes, it is impossible to prevent natural disasters and it seems humanity has now walked into the trap of nuclear power plants emitting dangerous levels of radiation when things go wrong. Well, my emphasis was on cosmic radiation, but I got it wrong because we now have a major issue with cosmic AND manmade radiation and this is only just the start... In this special documentary, NHK interviewed more than 200 people including government and TEPCO officials, experts, and engineers.
While reluctant, they agreed to speak with NHK. Some of the rather candid comments confirm that TEPCO, nor the Japanese government where adequately prepared for a disaster of this magnitude. The Economy, Trade, and Industry Minister, Banri Kaieda even made a rather damning remark (around the 4m30s mark in clip 1-A) that he could not deny there was a myth of safety regarding the nuclear power plants and that probably somewhere in their minds, they always felt that measures against emergency situations were unnecessary because such situations would never occur. This 1 hour video is split into 4 parts and hosted on Dailymotion (so you'll need to put up with the advertisements automatically displayed) since it is blocked on YouTube. Editorial note: At least to me, this wreaks of extreme overconfidence and arrogance and puts into context the sort of thought processes which were occurring early on until those involved finally realized the gravity of the crisis being beyond anything they could realistically imagine (and just how much officials underestimated the problems from the beginning). Here's an interesting report from Pakistan's daily newspaper The Nation. It cites a Russian regulatory agency as saying that the US is currently having a major nuclear emergency at the flooded plant in Nebraska and that the Obama Administration is trying to cover it up.
The Russian report describes the Nebraska situation as one of the worst nuclear accidents in the history of the United States. [...] Bear in mind that this report comes from Russia and Pakistan--two countries that aren't particularly happy with Obama right now. But the FAA has enacted a no-fly zone over the Fort Calhoun nuke plant, which was damaged by a fire and flooding from the Missouri river. Comment: Well, it's just amazing how quickly things are escalating... 1 week before Fukushima, it was reported that US nuclear experts were worrying about poor electrical backup systems in the event of a natural disaster and look what is happening now on US soil, just three months later. We have not even had a knock out blow from the Sun yet either, so maybe we should be grateful for the heavy warnings, because it looks like it's the only way humans will pay attention... Defense Attorney Luis Li then babbled for hours and hours and hours over two days. Part of the strategy was clearly to bore the jury into not paying attention, in the hope that they would not realize how much he is distorting and misrepresenting the evidence, and to give the impression that James Ray was actually defended. The strongest aspect of Li’s argument was the “free will” gambit, that Ray didn’t physically prevent anyone from leaving, therefore the victims were all responsible for their own fate. Further, that Ray had no reason to expect that anyone would die, and didn’t know there was any problem until it was too late. Comment: How could any jury NOT convict James Ray after this amazing closing statement by State prosecutor Sheila Polk. However, this synopsis of what happened and James Ray's culpability (with the unbelievable lie that James Ray told a police detective that Ted did it!, is still nowhere near as bad as the full details and the amount of trauma that has been caused as a consequence. Well, it's hard to believe that the jury will not convict him of something, but we will have to see... This will be the death of The Secret... Physician Janette Sherman, M.D. and epidemiologist Joseph Mangano published a report Monday highlighting a 35% spike in northwest infant mortality after Japan's nuclear meltdown.
The report spotlighted data from the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report on infant mortality rates in eight northwest cities, including Seattle, in the 10 weeks after Fukushima's nuclear meltdown. The average number of infant deaths for the region moved from an average of 9.25 in the four weeks before Fukushima' nuclear meltdown, to an average of 12.5 per week in the 10 weeks after. The change represents a 35% increase in the northwest's infant mortality rates. In comparison, the average rates for the entire U.S. rose only 2.3%. Comment: It looks like this sad news is going mainstream, even though there has been talk in the blogosphere for about a week. I don't think I really need to expound the reality that manmade radiation will cause a huge drop in birth rates. In so-called 'advanced' countries there will be many more abortions due to deformed babies being detected by medical specialists, so that means in countries without the advanced technology, there will be a dramatic increase in deformed babies being born. Of course, as I have stated before, infertility will increase dramatically too... I have been talking about spirtual evolution and it seems the criteria for this is being set higher and higher. Amazing mirage appeared on Thursday at dusk at the Tunxi section of the Xin'an River in Huangshan City, east China's Anhui Province, when continuous pouring rain had just stopped.
In the thin mist above the river were spectacular images of mountains, buildings and trees, which seemed to be floating on the river. The phenomenon began at about 17:00 p.m. local time, attracting a large number of people, who paused to watch the ethereal scene. Comment: This is a longer video and the close-up of the trees in the so-called mirage is just weird... it looks like the scientific explanation of mirages has just been blown... In 21 of the country’s 24 states, blackouts and power rationing are keeping thousands of businesses, schools, hospitals and neighborhoods in the dark. Besides dragging down the economy, the energy deficit has become a political problem for President Hugo Chavez, who plans to run for another six-year term in 2012 but whose government has been unable to solve the problem. Then this week, the US and UK announced they will switch off national power grids if they think they will be burned out by a geomagnetic storm caused by a blast of charged particles from the Sun. Hence, I think the situation in Venuzuela makes an interesting case study for those who are seriously interested in what life will be like in the near future if we don't start to do business differently. Thousands of travelers were stranded at airports around the United States Friday night after a computer failure of United Airlines' reservation system.
United spokesman Charles Hobart confirmed the outage and said the airline apologized to customers. A statement released by the airline did not say what caused the computer issue or how many passengers or flights were affected. Comment: This is happening so frequently that I am now wondering whether the computer 'glitch' is just the generic excuse, but I have written about various Space Weather relate issues concerning airports before. I need to find a nerd website in the geekosphere to confirm what I think is happening but I too busy at the moment. Whatever, maybe it's a coincidence that Earth got hit by a glancing blow from a CME, see below: WEAK IMPACT: A sharp gust of solar wind hit Earth's magnetic field today, June 17th, at approximately 0230 UT. This probably signaled the arrival of a CME en route from the sun since June 14th. The impact did not spark a significant geomagnetic storm, so bright auroras tonight remain unlikely. A Delta Airlines Boeing 747-400, registration N669US, DL-277 from Honolulu,Hawaii (USA) to Osaka Kansai(Japan) with 359 passengers and 19 crew, was enroute at FL360 about 300nm southeast of Sand Island/Midway Atoll (USA), when the captain's windshield cracked prompting the crew to divert to Sand Island's Henderson Field - runway length 2410 meters/7900 feet.
The aircraft hit two birds while on approach to Henderson Airfield on Midway Islands causing damage to a flap, the airplane continued for a safe landing about one hour later. [...] The airline said the aircraft suffered a "major crack" in the windshield. Given the condition of the windshield the crew could not wait for the landing until after dark, but had to land still in daylight. The FAA said, there was no loss of cabin pressure but the damage was sufficient to divert to Midway Atoll's runway that serves as an emergency strip for the Pacific. Comment: I simply can't keep up with the repeat events warning us that the electromagnetic environment is getting more and more intense. I keep thinking of the metaphysical messages I read in the past warning people that the changes would mean that some people would literally fry because they would not be able to handle the intense electrical activity. SYDNEY — Asian and African night owls were treated to a lunar eclipse, and ash in the atmosphere from a Chilean volcano turned it blood red for some viewers.
The Sydney Observatory said the eclipse was to begin at 3:25 a.m. Thursday (1:25 p.m. EDT, 5:25 p.m. GMT Wednesday) and last until after 5 a.m. Scientists said the specific phenomenon happening Thursday -- known as a "deep lunar eclipse" -- often exudes a coppery color. But the intensity of the color depends on the amount of ash and dust in the atmosphere. Comment: Yes, but we don't need an eclipse to turn the moon blood red. There are now a tremendous amount of amount of ash and dust in the atmosphere but I would suggest that there a significant amount of cosmic interstellar dust too, see archives for more details. UFOs? The Peruvian Air Force (FAP) acknowledges that there’s something going on in our airspace. The Dirección de Investigación Aeroespacial (DINAE), which investigates events that still lack a scientific explanation, has been in service for a decade.
Are we alone in the universe? This is the question that millions of human beings have asked themselves for centuries, and Peruvians are no exception. There is a department within the prestigious Peruvian Air Force (FAP) that was created in December 2001 and is devoted to the research of anomalous aerospace phenomena (to avoid calling them UFOs) and even now undergoes a restructuring phase to obtain a larger budget and more personnel. Comment: The Peruvian government has been very resistant to UFO disclosure, and it looks like despite their official UFO organisation stating there is nothing useful to report, they still believe their mission warrants more money and personnel. Reflective aerosols would be sent into space under a series of radical “geo-engineering” measures being considered by the UN climate science body to tackle climate change, leaked documents disclose.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) papers, leaked ahead of a key meeting in Peru next week, outline the series of techniques in which scientists hope will manipulate the world’s climate to reduce carbon emissions. Among the ideas proposed by a group of 60 leading scientists from around the world, including Britain, include producing “lighter coloured” crops to reflect sunlight, blasting aerosol “mirrors” into the stratosphere and suppressing cirus clouds. Other suggestions include spraying sea water into clouds as another reflection mechanism, depositing massive quantities of iron filings into the oceans, painting streets and roofs white and adding lime to oceans. Comment: Many years ago, when I first saw an article about using mirrors to try and control the Earth's climate I thought it was a joke. Now, the situation with the erratic, aberrant sun that is lacking sunspots but can fire absolutely massive bullets at Earth is way beyond strange and the scientific community are completely out of their depth. This has now reached a point where scientists cannot predict or prevent damage, so world authorities are just hoping they will have enough time to shut down planet Earth first (satellite communications, national power grids etc) to stop a massive CME blast blowing us back to the time before the Industrial Revolution. Yet, we have scientists warning of an imminent mini-Ice Age and significant climate change that will cool the Earth, but geo-engineering ideas are still being promoted to prevent climate change. So, we have to conclude that the very real fear is about the quality of the energy that is hitting the Earth, generally referred to as Space Weather. This is the real cause of dramatic climate and evolutionary change and the source of the real problem perceived by world controllers. Fundamentally, our world is now at the mercy of Universal forces. We cannot control celestial forces or what they will do (Epigenetics) and our modern technological world is at risk. Do you get that? Our whole modern world is at risk... We have scientists like Henrik Svensmark et al. who have already proven that climate change is driven by the stars, but if you do the research you will clearly see that massive evolutionary change is also driven by celestial influences, hence the many ancient warnings provided by our ancestors who lived in societies that in some instances, were more advanced than our modern world, (despite the continuous effort by archaeologists today to hide the truth). Space Weather is the warning provided by our ancestors who created the constellations and called one of them Aquarius and left a picture of man pouring water out of an urn. I will not even bother with the technicalities here, but I will state that the imagery was about explaining that at certain times in the precessional cycle, we can expect a celestial downpour of epic proportions. Guess What? Space Weather is about transformation and it is clearly obvious that we will have to do things differently on this planet to survive. Who can argue with that? LATELY, the Sun has been behaving a bit strangely. In 2008 and 2009, it showed the least surface activity in nearly a century. Solar flare activity stopped cold and weeks and months went by without any sunspots, or areas of intense magnetism. Quiet spells are normal for the Sun, but researchers alive today had never seen anything like that two-year hibernation.
Now that the Sun is approaching the peak of its magnetic cycle, when solar storms — blasts of electrically charged magnetic clouds — are most likely to occur, no one can predict how it will behave. Will solar activity continue to be sluggish, or will solar storms rage with renewed vigor? Luckily, policy makers are paying attention to space weather. Late last month, President Obama and the British prime minister David Cameron announced that the United States and Britain will work together to create “a fully operational global space weather warning system.” And just last week, the United Nations pledged to upgrade its space weather forecasts. But most people have never heard of space weather, which is a problem, because both high and low solar activity have serious effects on life on Earth. Comment: Good basic info. Anyway, it's worse than people not knowing about the existence of Space Weather but there must be a few wondering why the UK and US are so desperate they are prepared to shut down the national grids to prevent a total catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions. What is incredible is people who claim to be spiritual who have no idea how the universe works. Our scientists tell us that 96% of the energy matter of the universe is dark, that means that scientists cannot detect it at all but they reason that it must exist to make their theories of the universe work. So why can't people make the connection that the majority of Space Weather is dark energy-matter? We have scientists telling us that they predict that dark matter clouds move through earth on a regular basis, enough to 'nudge' the orbit of the Earth and folk still don't get it... Japan’s recent monster earthquake did more than jolt the island nation and send a tsunami racing across the Pacific Ocean. Hundreds of kilometers overhead, that tsunami also lit up the atmosphere in celestial glowing ripples.
In the first picture of its kind, scientists photographed these “airglow” ripples as they washed over Hawaii hours after the quake. "Fukushima is the biggest industrial catastrophe in the history of mankind," Arnold Gundersen, a former nuclear industry senior vice president, told Al Jazeera.
Japan's 9.0 earthquake on March 11 caused a massive tsunami that crippled the cooling systems at the Tokyo Electric Power Company's (TEPCO) nuclear plant in Fukushima, Japan. It also led to hydrogen explosions and reactor meltdowns that forced evacuations of those living within a 20km radius of the plant. Gundersen, a licensed reactor operator with 39 years of nuclear power engineering experience, managing and coordinating projects at 70 nuclear power plants around the US, says the Fukushima nuclear plant likely has more exposed reactor cores than commonly believed. "Fukushima has three nuclear reactors exposed and four fuel cores exposed," he said, "You probably have the equivalent of 20 nuclear reactor cores because of the fuel cores, and they are all in desperate need of being cooled, and there is no means to cool them effectively." When the climate gets wetter, plagues can get worse, according to a new study that reveals why the plague was much worse in China's north than in the south.
The results also suggest that climate change could mean more virulent plagues in northern China and North America, as parts of the globe get wetter. A bacterium called Yersinia pestis, which is carried by rodents, is responsible for three types of plague: bubonic (also called Black Death), septicemic and pneumonic plague. Together, these illnesses have been responsible for the deaths of millions of people the world over, including an estimated third of Europe's population during the Middle Ages. Comment: Climate change is driven by an influx of cosmic energies and the historical evidence is not disputed. This is only possible because Earth is an energetic system that is not closed. What's more, we know that in any energetic system, there cannot be change without energy coming from somewhere to create the change. So, as our planet is being flooded by space weather then we can presume that these scientists are warning the inhabitants of planet Earth what we can expect more plagues. CORONAL MASS EJECTION: On June 14th around 0810 UT, a magnetic filament near the sun's eastern limb became unstable and erupted. The resulting blast hurled a bright and massive CME into space:
The expanding cloud was observed by 3 spacecraft: STEREO-A, STEREO-B and SOHO. Researchers at the Goddard Space Flight Center's Space Weather Lab assembled data from the fleet to create a 3-dimensional model of the expanding cloud: movie. According to their analysis, the cloud blew away from the sun at a speed of 830 km/s and it could deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field on June 17th at 10:50 UT (plus minus 7 hours). The impact is not expected to provoke strong geomagnetic storming. Nevertheless, high-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras when the CME arrives. Comment: There seems to have been two blasts here at about the same time, but the lower looks like what I will call a 'trumpet' CME. Very nice. So a day after NASA has caused confusion by the announcement of low sunspot counts and therefore low solar activity, we get a very nice CME that is partially Earth-directed. Hopefully the Earth's magnetosphere will be in a good enough shape to cope with anything that arrives. The corona is millions of times fainter than the Sun's photosphere and is therefore only seen on Earth during an eclipse when the Moon blocks the photosphere's light. LASCO mimics an eclipse, simply using a disk to block light from the photosphere, allowing the corona to be observed. This is a movie of solar activity over the last 4/5 days. Most of the basic technology such as moulding seats and 'head-up displays' already exist, but how Airbus plan to make the plant-based, transparent 'skin' of the plane remains a mystery. Some unusual solar readings, including fading sunspots and weakening magnetic activity near the poles, could be indications that our sun is preparing to be less active in the coming years.
The results of three separate studies seem to show that even as the current sunspot cycle swells toward the solar maximum, the sun could be heading into a more-dormant period, with activity during the next 11-year sunspot cycle greatly reduced or even eliminated. The results of the new studies were announced today (June 14) at the annual meeting of the solar physics division of the American Astronomical Society, which is being held this week at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. [...] Altrock sifted through 40 years of observations from NSO's 16-inch (40 centimeters) coronagraphic telescope. New solar activity typically emerges at a latitude of about 70 degrees at the start of the solar cycle, then moves toward the equator. The new magnetic field simultaneously pushes remnants of the past cycle as far as 85 degrees toward the poles. The current cycle, however, is showing some different behavior. "Cycle 24 started out late and slow and may not be strong enough to create a rush to the poles, indicating we'll see a very weak solar maximum in 2013, if at all," Altrock said. "If the rush to the poles fails to complete, this creates a tremendous dilemma for the theorists, as it would mean that Cycle 23's magnetic field will not completely disappear from the polar regions. … No one knows what the sun will do in that case." Comment: For the overall climate on Earth, sunspot activity is important, so this announcement is really a political embarrassment with billions upon billions spent on the gamble of promoting the belief in global warming when low sunspot activity implies global cooling or even an Ice Age. In terms of Space Weather, the Sun could still unleash a massive Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) like it did last week and if it was Earth-directed, there could be some disasterous results due to the increased transmitting properties of space in our solar system, so low sunspot activity is not a good indicator for space weather effects on Earth. What was, until quite recently, predictable, temperate, mild and equable British weather, guaranteed to be warmish and wettish, ensuring green lawns in August, now sees the seasons reversed and temperature and rainfall records broken almost every year. When Kent receives as much rain (4mm) in May as Timbuktu, Manchester has more sunshine than Marbella, and soils in southern England are drier than those in Egypt, something is happening. "I think that global 'weirding' is the best way to describe what we're seeing. We are used to certain conditions and there's a lot going on these days that is not what we're used to, that is outside our current frame of reference," says climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe of Texas Tech University. Animals and plants may not be able to evolve their way out of the threat posed by climate change, according to a UC Davis study of a tiny seashore animal. The work was published today (June 8) in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B.
The tide pool copepod Tigriopus californicus is found from Alaska to Baja California — but in a unique lab study, the animals showed little ability to evolve heat tolerance. “This is a question a lot of scientists have been talking about,” said study co-author Eric Sanford, an associate professor of evolution and ecology at UC Davis and a researcher at the university’s Bodega Marine Laboratory. “Do organisms have the ability to adapt to climate change on a timescale of decades?” Comment: How interesting! This article based on the results of one study, neglects to inform the reader that the geological record shows that at times of rapid evolution change, many species die but many others flourish and scientists have NO idea what the factors are behind the changes. Whatever, the fact that scientists are even talking about evolution change taking place in decades reveals there must be more than enough examples to force them to reconsider what they know about evolutionary change. Hence, we have geneticists and evolutionary biologists/ecologists organising new conferences where it is obvious they seem to have completely abandoned their prior Darwinian theology. Research in this field is rapidly expanding because of the growing realization that epigenetic processes, notably those involving DNA methylation, might be much more relevant for ecology and evolution than previously acknowledged. TOKYO --The Japanese government prepared a report on the accident at the Fukushima I nuclear power station (NPS) of Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (TEPCO) and submitted it to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on June 7. The findings will be reported at the IAEA ministerial conference due to start on June 20. The 750-page report outlines several facts and observations...
The report consists of 13 themes. In the introduction, it points out that "the situation has become extremely severe" in dealing with the Fukushima I accident, due to the circumstances where the accident had to be dealt with in parallel with reconstruction work following the disaster caused by the great earthquake and tsunami. The report also includes an apology in relation to the nuclear accident, stating, "Japan sincerely regrets causing anxiety for people all over the world about the release of radioactive materials." Comment: The headline comes from Energy News where there are many more alarming headlines. What is so strange is the general ineptness, no disaster plans, no satisfactory response right at the begining of this disaster, the Japanese nuclear workers had nothing, not even flashlights, no decontamination unit available, etc etc. The world had 4 years warning after the Sumatra Indonesia 9.2 earthquake when 250,000+ people died. Geologists did not believe that such a massive earthquake could occur in that region, but they were wrong. What excuse do the Japanese have? Again geologists did not believe that such a massive earthquake could occur but tsunami is a Japanese word and they have a history of tsunamis killing many tens of thousands of people. So, where do they locate the nuclear power plants? On fault lines directly on the coast, with no decent back-up electricity lines. As we now know, the meltdown was caused by the earthquake and not the tsunami, just as a geologist predicted was extremely likely to happen. Our planet is humming with new higher frequencies, the energy inbalance means that more massive Earth changing events are likely and the world is still only interested in maintaining the status quo that simply cannot support humanity, but it suits the powers that be who prefer to have less people to try and control. Meanwhile, nobody can escape the radiation (cosmic and man-made) and it's down to how well people can cope with radiation on an individual basis. Japanese Nuclear Cleanup Workers Detail Lax Safety Practices at Plant Wall Street Journal, 14th June 2011 OGAKI, Japan—When Masayuki Sakamoto stepped onto the grounds of the world's most dangerous nuclear power plant in March, he had little preparation other than a half-hour briefing on protective gear. The 56-year-old owner of a 30-person construction firm from central Japan had been hired to clear debris and shovel dirt at the Fukushima Daiichi plant at a time when its reactors were belching smoke and oozing gamma rays. He had never worn a hazmat suit or used a dosimeter. He still doesn't have the proper paperwork that, in normal times, would be needed to work in a radioactive environment. Mr. Sakamoto's rare and detailed description of daily conditions at the plant reveals the extent of worker-safety concerns there. On Monday, plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co., or Tepco, said six more workers—bringing the total to eight—have likely received larger doses of radiation than allowed, even under Japan's loosened exposure limits. Mr. Sakamoto, a junior-high graduate, says he feels a "mission" to help tame the national crisis, but at the same time jokes that he's too dumb to be scared. "Smart people know about sieverts and becquerels, so they've really got this sense of self-preservation, fear, suspicion," he says. "When you think about it, it's a real plus to be uneducated and ignorant." Comment: The world is now watching but TEPCO still has no ability to see what is right and act accordingly. This is pathological corporate behaviour. Obviously, it does help if you can find those who don't mind being used and abused.

Officials in Britain and the United States are preparing to make controlled power cuts to their national electricity supplies in response to a warning of a possible powerful solar storm hitting the Earth.
In an interview with The Independent, Thomas Bogdan, director of the US Space Weather Prediction Centre, said that controlled power "outages" will protect the National Electricity Grids against damage which could take months or even years to repair should a large solar storm collide with the Earth without any precautions being taken. Dr Bogdan is in close discussions with scientists in the UK Met Office to set up a second space weather prediction centre in Britain to co-ordinate a global response to a threat viewed seriously by both the US and UK governments. One topic of discussion is how to protect national electricity grids from the immense power surges caused by the geomagnetic storms which happen when highly energetic solar particles collide with the Earth's magnetic field. [...] The aim of the joint US-UK collaboration is to improve solar weather forecasting to a point where it is possible to warn power companies of an imminent storm. There is a feeling that if a "category 5" solar storm – the biggest of the five categories – were to be predicted, then taking the grid off-line before it is due to hit Earth and letting the storm pass would be better than trying to keep things running, he said. Comment: OK, I have given my opinion ad infinitum, but I think the powers that be are desperate and might have been even more frightened by the massive CME last week that only gave Earth a slight glancing blow. A single living cell has been coaxed into producing laser light, researchers report in Nature Photonics. The technique starts by engineering a cell that can produce a light-emitting protein that was first obtained from glowing jellyfish. Flooding the resulting cells with weak blue light causes them to emit directed, green laser light. [...]
The authors note in an accompanying interview in the journal that the living system is a "self-healing" laser; if the light-emitting proteins are destroyed in the process, the cell will simply produce more. "In cellular sensing, we may be able to detect intracellular processes with unprecedented sensitivity," they said. "For light-based therapeutics, diagnosis and imaging, people think about how to deliver emission from an external laser source deep into tissue. Now we can approach this problem in another way: by amplifying light in the tissue (itself)." Comment: Actually, DNA produces ultraweak biophoton emission that have been commonly referred to as the aura. The best known researcher is German biophysicist Fritz-Albert Popp, who has been researching the laser light emissions from living systems for decades. Presumably, as this research is designated as photomedicine, scientists are trying to understand this process and how it can be used to enhance healing with light. Salim Daniel Sigales lives in Mexico City’s Gustavo A. Madero District. He has a degree in Computer Science and works at Benito Juarez International Airport (MCIA). He is interested in the UFO pheomenon and has devoted many hours to skywatch, securing some very interesting evidence.
Having developed a problem with his knee three months ago, he was placed on medical leave and forced to remain home. From his place of residence, and with great patience, he began recording passing aircraft, only to learn that the air corridors are frequented by unknown objects. Salim also employs an infrarred lens, of which he says: “It has served me well. I’m able to detect things that cannot be picked up by the unaided eye. When I recorded the video that shows the moon, there was apparently nothing strange in the sky, but my camera’s screen did show a rather large sphere. Comment: I thought this was interesting and worth mentioning that scientists have been able to detect UFOs in the infrared and ultraviolet parts of the electromagnetic spectrum for many decades. The Russians have been the most candid in explaining they have been watching UFOs with satellites that look into the ultraviolet and state there is quite a traffic of these plasma entities flying into and out of Earth's atmosphere. As I have stated before, well respected military historian and ufologist Trevor James Constable, in the 1950s onwards, was able to use special film that could see into the infrared that allowed him to photograph the "critters" that were distinctly biological in appearance, see archives for more info. If you spend time perusing the internet there are now hundreds of videos taken by people using infrared "night vision" cameras to record UFOs. I actually prefer to use the term Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) but even that is a misnomer because they are really a known phenomena and should be considered as another lifeform that is part of Earth's Shadow Bisophere. Witness report: A UFO is an Unidentified Flying Object, that is what I saw. My personal belief is that this is something extra-terrestrial.
I spotted this in the night sky over Boracay Island in the Phillipines at about 9 pm on June 5th 2011 (about 8 hours ahead of BST). I managed to catch it on my Casio Excilim GPS 14MP HD camera. I got about 25 hi res stills at 10X optical zoom, and a further 25 stills at a total of 27X (the additional 17X coming from digital zoom). I also took some HD footage at different zoom distances, this footage is at 27X. This video shows the last three minutes that the UFO was visable. It was visable for a total of about 25 minutes. This video is taken from prone position on the beachfront facing South-South-West, with the camera positioned in the sand so that it didnt move. I made a couple of adjustments as the UFO went off screen, but you can see that it isnt totally stationary. Comment: Gobsmacking.... (For Americans, that means shock and awe...) This was filmed with a commentary by an English tourist and others who saw this whilst eating dinner and then ran onto the beach to join the party of people watching a UFO that had apparently been seen over the previous two weeks. Regarding the event itself: the witness was attracted to a commotion among the "natives" who had netted a creature. Upon approaching the scene, the witness saw that what they had in their net was no "fish" but something with human characteristics. The witness asked what it was and was informed that they had, once again, caught a mermaid. [who knows what actual terminology was used, as the "broken-english-using" locals would seem unlikely to be using the term "mermaid" --- this begins to concern me a bit]. He was told that they wouldn't kill it but that it would die on its own. Which, "weeping", it did over the space of a half an hour. Comment: Well, I am spending more time studying ancient mythology and astronomy, so the enigma of mermaids is becomes highly relevant, especially when we have modern stories to fan the flames and keep ancient memories alive. But independent checks using a separate experiment called DZero have not been able to corroborate the findings - dealing a blow to the idea. Now a tiny English village is the latest community to claim to be being hit by the phenomenon known as "the hum". Residents of Woodland, in County Durham, claim that every night a noise permeates the air similar to the throb of a car engine. It is sometimes so strong that it even shakes the bed of one of the householders.
But no matter how hard they look, the community cannot find the source of the problem and, at their wits end, have called in the council to investigate. The 300-strong population is the latest around the world to be hit by the rumble which has in the past led to wild conspiracy theories blaming it on UFOs, government experiments and abandoned mine shafts. I am still looking at the mess of the Gregorian Calendar, how that relates to precession and the various astrological zodiacs because it is impossible otherwise, to understand why estimates for the start time of an astrological age, that is only supposed to last 2150 years, can vary by over 1000 years. Amongst the detailed analysis by various scholars, I have come across the research of John Charles Webb, Jr who states: We are now in the third millennium and our Macro cosmic timekeeping has been virtually ignored. It's like knowing what day it is but not knowing the week, month, year or century. According to the present scheme (no precessional adjustments) of The Gregorian Calendar we will NEVER enter the Age of Aquarius! Since the the Gregorian Calendar is an invention of the 'Holy' Church that is anything but holy, it seems that the current state of affairs is deliberate. In the first week of June, media attention shifted briefly from the Fukushima reactor calamity to skirmishes on the floor of the National Diet, where the government headed by Prime Minister Naoto Kan survived a no-confidence vote.
But the Fukushima reactor troubles keep coming back, creating a state of affairs best summed up by an obscure corollary to Murphy's Law that goes, "After things have gone from bad to worse, the cycle repeats itself." [Classic....] A professor of zoology at the Tokyo Institute of Technology would not rule out the possibility of the birth defect being caused by radiation exposure to the mother rabbit, but he told Flash it would be difficult to ascertain the cause of the mutation. Needless to say, no one at this stage even wants to think about the potential effects on the humans who will be born from around this autumn. Comment: I am impressed with the discovery of an obscure corollary to Murphy's Law, but I think it is only appropriate here because most have failed to comprehend the significance of the times that we are living in. STOCKHOLM (Dow Jones)--Telenor ASA (TEL.OS) said Friday its mobile telecommunications network in Norway is partly inoperative due to a technical fault, but gave no indication of when it would be rectified.
According to a statement on Telenor's webpage that was released at 1245 GMT, the company said it is experiencing problems with its mobile network that affects both mobile voice and SMS services. Fixed telephony isn't affected by the fault, the company said. On its Facebook-page Telenor said "large parts" of its mobile network in Norway was inoperative, as from 1100 GMT. The company said there hasn't been a complete outage, but added that voice and data traffic "has been significantly reduced" and that the flaw affects Telenor's customers and other operators which use Telenor's mobile network. Norway's Telenor has three million mobile subscriptions in Norway, according to the company financial statement for the first quarter 2011. Comment: So.... the timing here is very suspicious with this being the exact time that the NICT simulation of ACE satellite data, a fairly reliable early warning system for space weather, reported a white-hot magnetosphere at the time the Norwegian mobile communications system went down and it's not fixed yet, more than 36 hours later. To make matters worse, Telenor’s mobile telephone network broke down Friday afternoon, leaving hundreds of thousands of customers without telephone and text messaging (SMS) capabilities. In Oslo, the Get cable TV network also broke down. It was unclear whether the communications problems were also weather-related and Telenor apologized profusely on national radio, using a good old-fashioned land line. A huge storm on the sun this week unleashed what some have called the most massive eruption of solar plasma ever seen. While that's up for review, the solar storm has revealed a tantalizing glimpse at the inner workings of our nearest star, scientists say.
NASA astronomers said the huge June 7 solar eruption, called a coronal mass ejection, probably wasn't the biggest ever, but it is notable both for its size and its perplexing behavior. Huge waves of plasma roared off the sun only to rain back down on the solar surface. "We're seeing things we've never seen before," said Phillip Chamberlin, an astrophysicist at NASA's Goddard Spaceflight Center in Greenbelt, Md., and a deputy project scientist on the agency's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) satellite. "It's a really exciting event. There are a lot of exceptions to it." [...] Another mystery researchers are hoping to solve is why this super-powerful coronal mass ejection was paired with just a moderate solar flare. Experts aren't sure about the connection between the two events, which usually seem to roughly correlate both in timing and strength. Parts of the south-west Africa nation of Namibia usually associated with heat and dust have been blanketed in snow.
A storm brought sub zero temperatures and snow to the Namib-Naukluft Park this week, which local forecasters have described as an extremely rare event. The average overnight temperature, measured from Tuesday 18h00 until 06h00 Wednesday, was a record low of 2.1 degrees Celsius. According to namibiaweather.info, the lowest temperature recorded by weather stations on Tuesday was minus 7.8 degrees Celsius, just south of Waterberg in the Otjozondjupa Region. It was the proverbial "fly in the ointment" when an online food grocer (home delivery of fresh produce) alerted the Shizuoka prefectural government that one of Shizuoka's teas tested high in radioactive cesium according to the grocer's test. For Shizuoka, it was going to be a "clean bill of health" for all teas in Shizuoka when they started testing the final products, "seicha". 8 tea-growing regions tested below the limit on June 8, and 11 more regions were going to do the same on June 9. But this grocer came forward with the information that one of the teas were radioactive, exceeding the national limit. So the government was forced to test that particular tea, and it was indeed exceeding the limit. But it was not before the prefecture told the grocer not to publish the data, because the prefectural government was already doing the minimum necessary to alert the consumer. Their words. In other countries, this kind of arrogant behavior by the producer ignoring the safety of the consumers may result in boycott of the product. [Are you sure about that....] Comment: Japan is looking more and more like China with the total disregard for human life constantly being advocated by government authorities, who only seem to care about maintaining business interests. This is now so short sighted, they don't seem to comprehend that they will actually kill all the "customers" off.... Read the news and think.... Tokyo is already showing hot spots of high levels of radiation. This mentality of lets not destroy business interests, will instead sabotage the whole country...
This Week's Solar Flare Illuminates the Grid's Vulnerability New York Times, 9th June 2011 
A massive burst of solar wind that erupted from the sun Tuesday is expected to deliver only a "glancing blow" to the Earth's vulnerable magnetic field, NASA officials said yesterday. But it will preview what some experts call a potentially existential threat to the power grids of the United States and other nations, and the populations that depend on them.
"Geomagnetically-induced currents on system infrastructure have the potential to result in widespread tripping of key transmission lines and irreversible physical damage to large transformers," a 2009 report (pdf) by the North American Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC) and the Energy Department says. [...] The Hydro-Québec power system draws almost entirely on hydroelectric generation, which permits a relatively simple and rapid restoration, he said. In contrast, the U.S. grid relies predominantly on steam electric generation, making restoration much more difficult, and a recovery as fast as Quebec's "is highly unlikely." Comment: Another two Space Weather reports to read, I have quite a collection now.... This NERC report includes sections that focus on the risks to the national grid associated with terrorism, pandemics, as well as a geomagnetic/electromagnetic pulse (EMP) event. Interestingly, natural disasters and meteor strikes were mentioned but were not a focus and after the recent historic tornado levels, with a brisk hurricane season expected too and the ever increasing number of meteors being seen, I suppose they would all present similar issues and would be covered by the same procedures. The talk of the peak of solar cycle 24 being in 2012-2014 is questionable because the suns' behaviour still appears to be quite abnormal and I am still waiting to see if more scientists think we are NOW at the peak of the solar cycle. The point of the real concern is that it would only take one huge blast to wipe out grids across the world and historically, an X-rated flare and associated massive CME is possible at ANY time, just like we have seen this week. (Please note: we were fortunate because the CME was facing aware from Earth and and so we only clipped a little of the main energy, but the world cannot assume that Earth will not get hit by a mega solar event, some point in the near or distant future.) UM forum regular "The L" recently secured an interview with teacher and researcher Erling Strand who heads a long-running project aimed at investigating the mysterious Hessdalen Valley lights in Norway.
1.Is it proven that 95% of Hessdalen phenomena is plasma? Or are we still talking about UFOs? I read that conclusion of the research was that "...its behavior most often unpredictable." And unknown origin. No, it is not proven that the Hessdalen Phenomena is a plasma, but in many cases it might be a possibility. The many differences of shapes, colors, lifetime, behavior etc. makes us believe there may be different types of phenomena we are studying. There may be several answers to the question: What is it? Comment: This is an interesting interview where Erling Strand is being asked about the Hessdalen Phenomenon being a plasma. The questions are from someone who does not seem to have read the relevant scientific reports that are freely available on the internet or studied the properties of plasmas in relation to electromagnetic fields. I think that Strand has no choice but be quite evasive about whether the Hessdalen phenomenon is a plasma, because context is very important for a scientist. I think the answer to question 4. is probably the best Strand can do to help the interviewer understand the issue. The simple definition of plasma is like comparing a human to a selection of elements on the periodic table, obviously, that is a very long way off from understanding a human being. Humans have been scientifically studying human biology for hundreds maybe even thousands of years, we have defined many other different facets that make up a human being, but the importance of the electromagnetic and the interdimensional properties of humans are often studied, but the importance is mostly downplayed. It's the same issue with cosmology and the electromagnetic properties of the universe that have been mostly ignored until recent decades. Scientists are happy to explain they believe in completely undetectable "dark matter" and "dark energy", but have balked at the idea of electricity in space, but Space Weather has changed a lot of opinions. At the moment, due to our poor understanding of plasma and it's electromagnetic properties, calling the Hessdalen Phenomena "plasma" is just too all encompassing for a scientist, especially when funding is not that forthcoming. Four sites are currently operational: the Norwegian central station called 'Blue box' where the Norwegian equipment and measuring the electric field, the radar station located 4 miles south and two electromagnetic stations located in the valley and powered by batteries and solar panels." Comment: Please note: Scientists have NOTHING else to compare this luminous phenomenon to but plasma and for a good reason, when plasma makes up 99.99% of the known universe but we still don't understand much about it at all. June 9, 2011: NASA's Voyager probes are truly going where no one has gone before. Gliding silently toward the stars, 9 billion miles from Earth, they are beaming back news from the most distant, unexplored reaches of the solar system.
Mission scientists say the probes have just sent back some very big news indeed. It's bubbly out there. "The Voyager probes appear to have entered a strange realm of frothy magnetic bubbles," says astronomer Merav Opher of Boston University. "This is very surprising. Comment: The NASA video that accompanies this media release is quite succinct. The description of the new 'Foam Zone', makes me wonder how long it takes these scientists to come up with a phrase that sells an idea. WICHITA, Kansas -- Last night Wichita experienced a very rare weather phenomenon known as a “Heat Burst.” At 12:22 a.m. the temperature at Wichita’s Mid-Continent Airport was 85 degrees. At 12:44 the temperature spiked to 102 degrees. This was a 17 degree increase in only 20 minutes. Winds also gusted between 50 and 60 MPH. The heat burst winds and temperatures rapidly dissipated as they spread across Sedgwick and Southern Butler Counties.
A heat burst is caused when rain falls into very dry air, high up in the atmosphere. The rain quickly evaporates as it falls through the dry parcel of air and that parcel cools rapidly. This dense mass falls rapidly toward the ground, heating up as it compresses. When this hot ball of air hits the ground it spreads out in every direction creating very strong, warm and dry winds. Comment: I wonder whether this was related to strong geomagnetic activity associated with the solar flare and CME. Probably the best guess would be a substorm but because this event is very rare, I think it must be noted. The sun is entering a more active phase due to peak in 2013 on a roughly 11-year sunspot cycle, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) said. Power supplies, air traffic control, communications and satellites can all be disrupted by storms. "We are increasingly being impacted by space weather," Barbara Ryan, director of the space weather program at the Geneva-based WMO, told Reuters. She said there was a need to coordinate forecasts and upgrade warnings of looming storms. "No country has enough resources alone ... we need observations from all over the globe," she said. Today, orbiting satellites are threatened by over 700 000 pieces of debris. Avoiding them requires knowing where they are, and that means surveillance with radar and telescopes. The European Space Agency is designing a system to catalog debris and warn satellite operators when to take evasive action.
This week, over 150 global experts will meet at an ESA-organised conference to share the latest research findings on space debris, surveillance technology, orbital hazard detection and satellite safety. The first European Space Surveillance Conference (ESS2011) will be held 7-9 June in Madrid, Spain. The conference spotlights ESA's Space Situational Awareness (SSA) programme, now in the preliminary phase, which aims to put in place a 'three-legged' system to warn of hazards posed by orbital debris, space weather and natural objects like asteroids that may strike Earth. Prime Minister David Cameron and US President Barack Obama have welcomed the growing partnership between the Met Office and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Weather Service in working toward the delivery of space weather alerts.
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Met Office and NOAA in February 2011 provides for a coordinated US-UK partnership. This involves a range of UK and US agencies and organisations in the delivery of Space Weather alerts to help provide critical infrastructure protection around the globe. The two governments have announced that they will embark together on an ambitious programme to create the world's first combined space weather model capable of forecasting terrestrial weather and also indicating where, when, and for how long space weather effects will persist in our upper atmosphere. Entitled “Satellite Navigation & Space Weather: Understanding the Vulnerability & Building Resilience,” the report is based on a workshop organized by the AMS and held October 13–14, 2010 in Washington, D.C. Space weather is the largest source of accuracy errors for most GNSS users, due to its effects on signal propagation through the atmosphere. The next solar maximum, the high point in an 11-year cycle, is expected to occur in 2013. A device that may help predict and prevent GPS and cell phone blackouts has been developed at the University of Central Florida.
The imager, named Global-Scale Observations of the Limb and Disk, or GOLD for short, will record images of ultraviolet light emitted by the atmosphere approximately 62 miles above the earth’s surface. Measurements will be made from a satellite orbiting in sync with the earth, meaning data can be collected across the entire hemisphere throughout the day. The data will give scientists a clear picture of how the temperature and composition in the uppermost portions of the atmosphere respond to various influences, such as changes in the sun’s output. Comment: Yet, some New Agers are applying real 'golden energy' into their energy fields for 'shielding and protection' and most people would think this was mad because they don't haver a clue about the true nature of reality. Close to the end of the last ice age there was a sudden disappearance of many mammalian species which some paleontologists say was the most severe since the disappearance of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. In North America 95 percent of the megafauna became extinct, these being predominantly mammals having body weights greater than 25 to 50 kilograms. But even small animals were affected, as in the disappearance of 10 genera of birds.
Although North America was most affected, it had a severe impact also in Europe, Siberia, and South America. The cause of the extinction has long remained a mystery. Theories that have been put forth have ranged from overkill by North American paleolithic hunters to the impact of a large comet or swarm of meteors. But all have been shown to have serious flaws. Now, Starburst Foundation researcher Dr. Paul LaViolette has found evidence that this mysterious die-off may have had a solar flare cause. In his paper published this week in the journal Radiocarbon, LaViolette concludes that a super sized solar proton event (SPE) impacted the earth about 12,900 years ago (12,837+/- 10 calendar years BP).* Comment: Maybe this idea of a super sized solar proton event (SPE), is a new idea, because I can't find the particular details in LaViolette's book Earth Under Fire. It could also be a refinement to his research that suggests the Sun temporarily became a T Tauri star due to being aggravated by the arrival of interstellar cosmic dust. Whatever, LaViolette needs to be careful, the movie Knowing (2009) has an apocalyptic ending with a super sized solar flare incinerating the surface of the Earth, so people have been scared. Thus, this theory just adds fuel to the fire, if you can excuse the pun... Well, I have seen some poor efforts by people trying to debunk this film ending, but most people are ignorant of solar science and the history of conflagrations on this planet but this is especially relevant now as our solar system is currently being flooded with interstellar cosmic dust. The Shroud of Turin was made by medieval artist Giotto, it was claimed yesterday. The 14ft length of fabric, said to be the burial cloth of Christ, bears a faint image of a man and appears to be stained by blood. However carbon-dating tests have suggested it was produced between 1260 and 1390.
Now Italian art expert Luciano Buso has suggested that the original cloth deteriorated and Giotto was asked to make a copy. Comment: In 1998, when I lived in Italy, I was fortunate to get the opportunity to see the Shroud of Turin on public display. What was most remarkable to me was to witness the public reverence of a 'holy' relic.... However, the most interesting thing about this special event was the sideshows of goodies on display that are rarely seen by the public... the jewel infested crowns and crosses gifted to the 'Holy' Church by kings and queens for services rendered... The whole thing is really disgusting when you understand how these 'rulers' behaved. Over many years I haver studied the 'Holy' Church and living in Italy was an excellent opportunity to see evidence firsthand of how these rulers lived like kings and queens. Today, we have historians that have been forced to hold conferences because of the high percentage of forged documents from the early Middle Ages, but forgeries have been coming out at a factory rate from Rome for a long before that time. (Reuters) - Australia's military has lost its X-Files, detailing sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs, across the country, a newspaper report said on Tuesday.
After a two-month search in response to a newspaper Freedom of Information (FOI) request, which forces government officials to release documents of public interest, Australia's Department of Defence had been unable to locate the files, the Sydney Morning Herald said. "The files could not be located and Headquarters Air Command formally advised that this file is deemed lost," the department's FOI assistant director, Natalie Carpenter, told the paper. Defence officials could not be contacted by Reuters. The only file Defence had been able to locate was a folder called: "Report on UFOs/Strange Occurrences and Phenomena in Woomera," a military weapons testing range in the center of Australia's vast outback, Carpenter said. Comment: Interesting that even Reuters felt the need to comment.... So, the Australian military would rather people think they were just incompetent? The spectacular development unleashed a radiation firestorm on a level not seen for five years which is expected to cause a 'moderate' geomagnetic storm when it reaches Earth. Nasa's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the event which combines a flare, a coronal mass ejection (CME) and a minor radiation storm. [...] This is interesting and significant because it shows the sun is returning to its more typical active state.' The resulting geomagnetic storm could cause some disruption in power grids, satellites that operate global positioning systems and other devices, and may lead to some rerouting of flights over the polar regions, Murtagh said. 'Generally it is not going to cause any big problems, it will just have to be managed,' he said. Comment: Yes, it's only a M2.5 solar flare (see below) and a CME that is not even directed at Earth, but the problem we have is the weakness of Earth's magnetic shielding which is in tatters compared to how well the magnetosphere stood up against the onslaught at the height of Solar Cycle 23 where Earth was really blasted. What's more, NASA have already explained that we can expect a stronger impact on Earth due to the polarity of the solar wind and CMEs. We have been told the solar wind is leaking into the magnetosphere like gas and when a CME comes along, it acts like a match and the whole thing goes BOOM! This is only part of the reason why satellite controllers and the space community cannot be complacent about solar storms and why there is now so much drama surrounding space weather. Update: OOPS! The sun unleashed a massive solar storm today (June 7) in a dazzling eruption that kicked up a vast cloud of magnetic plasma that appeared to rain back down over half of the sun's entire surface, NASA scientists say.
The solar storm hit its peak at about 2:41 a.m. EDT (0641 GMT), but the actual flare extended over a three-hour period, said C. Alex Young, a solar astrophysicist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center who runs a website called The Sun Today, in a video describing the event.
"The sun produced a quite spectacular prominence eruption that had a solar flare and high-energy particles associated with it, but I've just never seen material released like this before," Young said. Comment: The solar flare is quite amazing, I don't think I have ever seen a solar flare that has fallen back down onto the sun like mud, but strange new behaviour of the sun should be expected as the sun is now processing a different type of energy, (this is contrary to old ideas of how the sun works). Apparently, there was also a massive coronal mass ejection (CME), described in the NOAA solar report (see www.solarham.com) as a "full halo asymmetric CME" but it was facing in the wrong direction to give planet Earth the full treatment. Hence there are two separate events to check out. The melted fuel at Tokyo Electric Power Co.’s Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power station may have leaked through the pressure vessels of the Nos. 1 to 3 reactors, the Yomiuri newspaper reported.
The Japanese government will submit a report to the International Atomic Energy Agency that raises the possibility the fuel dropped through the bottom of the pressure vessels, a situation described as a “melt through” and considered more serious than a “meltdown,” according to the report, which cited the document. The edge of our solar system is filled with a turbulent sea of magnetic bubbles, according to new NASA research.
Scientists made the discovery by using a new computer model, which is based on data from NASA's twin Voyager probes. The unmanned Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, which launched in 1977, are plying the outer reaches of our solar system, a region known as the heliosheath.
The new discovery suggests that researchers will need to revise their views about the solar system's edge, NASA officials said. A more detailed picture of this region is key to our understanding of how fast-moving particles known as cosmic rays are spawned, and how they reach near-Earth space. A rare white fawn has been born in east China and staff say the animal is unusually energetic compared to other baby deer. Except for a prominent patch on its head and a strip of brown running halfway down its back, the creature is pure white. A mysterious creature was spotted recently in a villager's home in the Dujia Village of Tianhui Town (??????).
The young animal, described as looking like a mixture between a dog and a mouse, is covered in gray fur and has a large tail.
A Chengdu Commercial Daily reporter who observed the animal sleeping on the open palm of one of the village residents, described it as "just around 10 cm long. Its pinkish skin is covered in light gray fur, its four limbs are short and stocky, the five toes on each paw all have nails, and its hair-covered tail is longer than half of its body length. And on its head, apart from its two unopened eyes, the most remarkable feature is its pointy and upturned nose." Comment: I am not sure whether this is a real mutant... the article confuses by suggesting these are known creatures that are appearing, but the mystery is that these creatures are simply not native to this region of China. What intrigues me is this is the same region where the media reported in May 2007 and August 2008, cats developing wings in a month. Folks, after the business with the constellation of Ophiuchus being on the ecliptic and astronomers claiming there should be 13 constellations in the Zodiac, I thought astronomers were only trying to annoy astrologers, but it's a fact that the planet is under severe bombardment and the Earth's magnetic shield is in tatters.... Ancient astronomers from past advanced civilisations, did not leave important information about the 26,0000 year precessional cycle for no reason! I have been quite amused by reading a large selection of articles by astrologers who were mostly apoplectic that an astronomer had the nerve to point out some reality... Yet, I have found a few astrologers who can actually read astronomical charts and have already adapted... For the record, I am mostly interested in the messages left by ancient astronomers and most of this has been retained in ancient religious text, philosophy, mythology and monuments. Yet, since astronomers have been acting very strange recently, like the prior upset when astronomers voted to demote Pluto to a 'dwarf' planet, I am now convinced that we are experiencing major 'winds of change'....
P.S. I have noticed there are a lot of people talking about the Age of Aquarius arriving in 700 years, but these are people repeating other people's opinions. There are some who claim the Age of Aquarius has already started and the estimates vary from the 15th century CE to the start of the new millenium! To be honest, I am only really interested in the opinions of those who can actually point a telescope in the right direction on the 21st March (Vernal Equinox) to see what constellation actually rises just before dawn because this is what how ancient astronomers determined the astrological age. According to astronomers who have, the constellation of Aquarius has been the heliacal rising constellation for some centuries! Now the other argument is that this is only true because of all the 'adjustments' made to the Gregorian calendar. I can't disagree with this argument as there are too many historians who simply refuse to believe that most of the history that has been passed down to us is even remotely true before the 11th century, (the dates of historical astrological charts are rejected too.) If you have studied this subject, you will know that a certain well known religious establishment has a well documented and well earned reputation for extensive forgery and they were the ones in charge of the calendars and we know that the constant changing of dates completely wrecked the calendars to the point where the priests themselves actually had no idea what century they were living in. If you don't know this, then check the facts! That is why Mayan Timekeepers and Elders have rather curtly pointed out that they don't have a problem with their calendars....
So, this state of affairs is so bad that I am only really interested in hard facts and Space Weather is a reality. The other thing of real interest is why religious and metaphysical folk have not pointed out the importance of Space Weather because there has been extensive literature about the arrival of new energies associated with a New World Age. This period of time has been given many names by different cultures, religious, metaphysical and esoteric groups. Interestingly, The Age of Aquarius has been associated with an outpouring of The Holy Spirit and this reminds me of Gioacchino da Fiore, or Joachim of Fiore (1135-1202), an Italian mystic, theologian, and philosopher of history, today despised by The 'Holy' Church because he pointed out that when the Holy Spirit arrives, their time will be up! Quite frankly, I have come to the conclusion that many who claim to be spiritual are anything but.... they simply have no interest in reality because reality is spiritual.

CINCINNATI -- People across the Tri-State awoke to an unusual sight Thursday -- thousands of earthworms lying dead on sidewalks and porches. WLWT was first alerted to the issue by Rick in West Chester.
"This appears to have started sometime yesterday afternoon, as I do not remember seeing them yesterday morning," Rick wrote. Shortly after Rick's email, WLWT reporter Brian Hamrick began taking photos from his home in Florence, where thousands of worms coated the sidewalks of his neighborhood. After one post on Facebook, more than 90 people said they had seen the same thing, from Fairfield to Mount Airy, Pleasant Ridge, Independence and Sardinia. WLWT even got confirmation from its sister TV station in Louisville that they had a few hundred dead worms on their sidewalk. Comment: When there is too much electricity in the ground, the worms just can't take it and get out onto the surface of the ground, but why they then died is a mystery and I can only guess they were overcome by the heat and lack of humidity... In the video, the 'expert' provides very unlikely explanations and these are very swiftly dealt with by the reporter... Interestingly, the electricity explanation seems to be common knowledge amongst fisherman who use their own, often homemade electrical devices, to quickly collect worms... Some people believe that worms coming out of the ground are an earthquake precursor but I don't believe that because there are frequent reports of worms and no accompanying earthquake. Often cited is Friedemann Freund, from Nasa Ames Research Center, who developed the scientific theory that when rocks are compressed they act like batteries, producing electric currents. This is something that I wrote about in my book but this is NOT related to the piezoelectric effect, because this only applies to rocks such as granites, which contain a high percentage of quartz. TOKYO --A fact-finding mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) visiting Japan to investigate the accident at the Fukushima I nuclear power station (NPS) complied a summarized version of its investigation report on June 1. The report credited expert staff at the Fukushima I with having done the best they could in their efforts to secure the plant under exceptionally difficult circumstances in the initial stages of the accident. On the other hand, it pointed out that several improvements should be made including strengthening of anti-tsunami measures, defense-in-depth systems and initial response plans at the power plant. The report urged that similar improvements be made also at other nuclear facilities.
Comment: Well, we have the mega photo op promoting nuclear energy.... I wonder how much radiation they all got? Well, we can see in the photo provided here that they were wearing respirators but most of the IAEA are standing with their backs to the camera... presumably, standing in front of the Fukushima 'mega disaster' nuclear plant wreckage was probably bad enough... I am not even going to bother discussing the 'findings' because anyone with a few brain cells knows this disaster should not have been allowed to happen...

The asteroid fly-bys are coming in thick and fast as planet Earth has been in an interstellar debris cloud for many years now. Radiation from cell phones can possibly cause cancer, according to the World Health Organization. The agency now lists mobile phone use in the same "carcinogenic hazard" category as lead, engine exhaust and chloroform.
Before its announcement Tuesday, WHO had assured consumers that no adverse health effects had been established. A team of 31 scientists from 14 countries, including the United States, made the decision after reviewing peer-reviewed studies on cell phone safety. The team found enough evidence to categorize personal exposure as "possibly carcinogenic to humans." What that means is that right now there haven't been enough long-term studies conducted to make a clear conclusion if radiation from cell phones are safe, but there is enough data showing a possible connection that consumers should be alerted. Comment: This is such old news... but interesting to note as we have the pattern of concerned individuals speaking out decades before those in authority are prepared to admit the truth. This is most likely related to business cycles and since phone usage has now reached saturation point, the big players probably think they have made enough money and are now moving on. The Sunday Telegraph's "Carbon Cate" headline should have come as no surprise. Sure, it was a clever journalistic line in response to news that Cate Blanchett was heading the Australian Conservation Foundation's TV advertising campaign in support of a carbon tax. On ABC radio on Sunday, Henry seemed unprepared for the criticism, which demonstrates just how out of touch some inner-city environmentalists are with predominant views in the suburbs and regions. (Medical Xpress) -- A case of a 36-year-old woman who began to literally 'feel' noise about a year and a half after suffering a stroke sparked a new research project by neuroscientist Tony Ro from the City College of New York and the Graduate Center of the City University. Research and imagery of the brain revealed that a link had grown between the woman’s auditory region and the somatosensory region, essentially connecting her hearing to her touch sensation.
Ro and his team presented the findings at the Acoustical Society of America’s meeting on May 25. They pointed out that both hearing and touch rely on vibrations and that this connection may be found in the rest of us as well. Dramatic footage filmed from a helicopter by Australia's Channel 7 shows a series of powerful waterspouts near the coastal suburb of Terrigal, on Australia's New South Wales coast. Several powerful columns of swirling air could be seen blasting along the water's surface near the coastline. Channel 7 claimed the spouts reached heights of up to 600 metres (nearly two thousand feet), but dissipated as they neared land. The natural wonders came as strong winds and heavy rain also lashed other parts of the state, causing flash flooding and traffic chaos in Sydney.
Comment: Best footage of a waterspout that I have ever seen but at the end of this video, the images of the water flowing upwards, off some cliffs is truly bizarre and might be explained by the strength of the anomalous geomagnetic forces that were present. Radioactive soil in pockets of areas near Japan’s crippled nuclear plant have reached the same level as Chernobyl, where a “dead zone” remains 25 years after the reactor in the former Soviet Union exploded.
Soil samples in areas outside the 20-kilometer (12 miles) exclusion zone around the Fukushima plant measured more than 1.48 million becquerels a square meter, the standard used for evacuating residents after the Chernobyl accident, Tomio Kawata, a fellow at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization of Japan, said in a research report published May 24 and given to the government. Bangladesh woman cuts off 'attacker's' penis BBC News, 30th May 2011
Police in southern Bangladesh say a woman cut off a man's penis during an alleged attempt to rape her and took it to a police station as evidence.
The incident took place in Mirzapur village, Jhalakathi, about 200km (124 miles) south of the capital, Dhaka. Monju Begum, 40, a married mother of three, told police that neighbour Mozammel Haq Mazi forced his way into her shanty and started assaulting her. Mr Mazi, who denies the accusation, has been admitted to a nearby hospital. Comment: So.... she was ready with the knife.... In recent years China has been hit by a number of food scandals and fears about safety have lingered. In 2008, 300,000 babies became seriously ill and six babies died after being given formula contaminated with the industrial chemical melamine. In April this year, police seized 40 tons of beansprouts which had been treated with dangerous growth promoting chemicals and hormones, while this month, watermelons started exploding in the fields because they had been treated with too much accelerant. In March health officials discovered pork that glowed and iridescent blue in the dark because it had been contaminated by a bacteria. Comment: I don't think that you need to be that intelligent to realise that Chinese society has been sabotaging itself on a grand scale and things have gone too far. I think a major wake-up call was the cooking oil dredged from the sewers that was being re-sold.... I can't even imagine the level of consciousness that just sees this as good business... Whatever, the massive increase in birth defects and the bizarre medical conditions must be frightening many people. Researchers found that long-term nuclear radiation exposure led to either increased male births or decreased female births
Researchers from the Helmholtz Zentrum München have discovered that nuclear radiation exposure either causes a higher rate of male births or a decreased rate of female births. [...]
But in a new study led by Hagen Scherb and Kristina Voigt from the Helmholtz Zentrum München, exposure to nuclear radiation didn't necessarily have a harmful effect on humans, but rather an interesting impact on the gender of babies. Scherb and Voigt studied those who live near nuclear facilities, as well as areas affected by radiation from the atomic bomb testing before the Partial Test Ban Treaty in 1963 and the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. What they found was that the ratio of male to female births was biased in favor of male births by a noticeable amount. In fact, they found that there was an increase in male births over female births in the U.S. and Europe from 1964 to 1975, which occurred immediately after the globally dispersed atmospheric atomic bomb test fallout prior to the ban in 1963. They also found a heightened amount of male births over female births in Europe in 1987, one year after the Chernobyl disaster. The U.S., which was not affected by the nuclear disaster, did not experience the same shift in male-dominated births. In addition, the study found that those living within 22 miles of nuclear facilities in Germany and Switzerland had an increased birth rate of male babies over female babies. Comment: If the gender of babies was all the world had to worry about, then we would not have records of children with terrible birth defects and mutations born after the disaster at Chernobyl as well as all the babies born in war zones were uranium weapons are used ... Actually, Physicist Professor Chris Busby, the world's top radiation expert, does have something to say about infertility, the general risks associated with small amount of radiation leaking from nuclear power plants (see interviews before Fukushima) and the terrible disaster in Japan, see below. I personally don't think it's possible to make any comparison's between small amounts of radiation leaking from nuclear power plants and the major nuclear disaster at Fukushima that is still ongoing, as all the experts agree, Fukushima is far far worse than the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

One thing the Japanese government is upset about is that TEPCO didn't vent them sooner. It was instructed to vent them on March 11, but failed to act until the next morning. Nuclear Safety Commission Chairman Haruki Madarame told Japan's Parliament, "We can certainly say that if the venting took place a little earlier, we could have prevented the situation from worsening." The book has no known author or official title; Yale librarians simply refer to it as MS 408. But thanks to its peculiar language, symbols and diagrams, often strangely familiar but insistently elusive in meaning, it has intrigued and frustrated anthropologists, linguists and mathematicians for centuries. Even the elite cryptologists at the US National Security Agency drew a blank after spending years trying to decode it in the 1950s. As Oprah wrapped her history-making show this week, amidst the cascade of media coverage could be found a lot of ambivalence about her impact on society. On the one hand, she had an undeniably positive impact on public perception of what a woman of color can accomplish in America. She broke a lot of ground for women, period. For that we can all be grateful. On the other hand, she foisted a lot of pop psychology and dumbed down spiritual teaching on an eager public. [....]
On the plus side, Oprah is a major force for literacy. She makes people feel good about reading which not a lot of television personalities do. She heightened attention to literary greats like Toni Morrison and Maya Angelou. On the negative side, I can never forgive her Dr. Phil and The Secret. I just can't. I have little doubt that Oprah believes strongly in both. Her endorsement of the pop psychology of Dr. Phil and the spiritual pornography of The Secret are a tiny, little window into the psyche of this extremely driven woman. Both of these Oprah endorsed cottage industries are a study in control freakdom. Comment: Hmmm.. I can't disagree with most of the negatives here but I'm still thinking about LaVaugh describing The Secret as 'spiritual pornography', I think the sentiment is a little too strong.... There cannot be any doubt that the heavily promoted and now ubiquitous shallow spirituality has encouraged the 'me, me, me', mentality to the point where our world faces a deluge of spiritual energy and most interested in spirituality are oblivious to the implications. For goodness sake, the hippies in the 1960s were singing about The Age of Aquarius
at the time Russian astrophysicists were measuring the build up of energies around our solar system... Today, our planet is being saturated, our modern technological world is threatened and the vast majority are oblivious that a massive transition is taking place... This image is from Professor Bin Mori of Tokyo University Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences. There are more autoradiographs on his blog site. He says the pictures show that radioactive materials have been absorbed from the roots and distributed throughout the plants."
